PEDER LIND & CECILIE MATHILDE GRAVERSEN & DESCENDANTS
Peder was baptised Graversen, but on 30 December 1905 he received official documentation confirming that he was entitled to use the family name Nordestgaard. In 1906 they took over a property in Skads, where they farmed until Peder's death in 1934. Cecilie kept the property for some years after Peder's death until, in 1939, she sold it and built a 3 storey house in Skads. In her final years she lived in a nursing home in Skodborg. Cecilie and Peder were both buried in the churchyard in Skads. The AI repaired photo shows the family in front of their farmhouse. About Cecilie and Peder Lind, told by an old neighbour, Hans Andersen, Tudegården in Skads: There was a piece of heath called Birkesøl Skole, which Lind later sold. Afterwards he bought a parcel of land in what is now called the "mose" (the bog). It bordered the present Esbjerg Airport. Only a small part was cultivated, and Lind cleared and drained the rest. Shortly after Else Kirstine was born, they built the new house south of Landevejen. It was built in an L-shape consisting of a dwelling house, stable and barn. Karsten Frandsen built it at a price of 4,500 kroner, without brickwork, chimney and painting. Lind soon acquired two young horses, and alongside farming he drove milk to Esbjerg Andelsmejeri. He also carted goods for Skads Brugs and the Feed Store. Cecilie kept the property for some years after Lind's death. In 1939 she sold the property to Sigvald Løn and built a house in Skads, where she lived until she entered the nursing home in Skodborg. She lived there until her death.

4.9.1 Klaus Møller 4.9.2 Søren Møller 4.9.3 Henrik Møller When the family book was published in 1983, the family related the following: Gudrun and Knud lived in Copenhagen until 1948, where Knud completed his veterinary studies at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. They then lived for a time in Brandelev on Zealand before moving in 1949 to Farum to establish a private veterinary practice. Six months later they moved to Bryrup to take over a veterinary practice. This was sold in 1952 and the family moved to Bramming, where Knud entered into partnership with veterinarian Krog. However, there was not sufficient basis for such a large practice in the area, and the family prepared to emigrate to the U.S.A. or New Zealand. New Zealand was chosen. They departed from Esbjerg by ship in December 1954. There was gale-force wind (force 11) in the North Sea, but otherwise it was a pleasant voyage to Wellington aboard the "Dominion Monarch" from Southampton via the Canary Islands, Cape Town, Fremantle and Melbourne. The journey lasted five weeks. The family settled in the Huntly area, moving four times until building their own home in 1961. Knud became senior veterinarian at the Huntly Club, and in 1966 the family moved to Hamilton. In 1976 the marriage was dissolved and Knud remarried the following year. He was then a lecturer at Massey University in Palmerston North. Gudrun was a recognised textile artist. She visited Denmark in 1982 and participated in the family reunion in Tim in August of that year. In late 2011 her eldest son, Klaus, wrote in an email to the website that his mother, also known as Gudde, was doing well despite her age of 88. Many thanks for the original research and effort by Lars, Holger and Dorte.
